Your First 60 Days in Network Marketing

For those of you who don’t know much about Network Marketing, you’re essentially running your own business. You work as an Independent Rep/Distributor of the particular companies product or service. In other words, you’re the boss, you decide when you want to work, when you want to take vacations, and most importantly how much YOU make.

Sounds good, right? Well, the world of Network Marketing isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. It can be a take a toll on someone who isn’t mentally prepared to what they’re getting into. If you’re not ready, I can almost guarantee that you WILL fail. 97% of people who enter Network Marketing, quit because they’ve given up too quickly.

Your First 60 Days

Your first 60 days are the most crucial, as statistics show that after 78 days most people quit – because they haven’t had the success that they want.

Chances are unless you’re very lucky, or have a lot of money and can commit to doing your business full time immediately, you’re not going to make a lot of money in your first 60 days, and truly that’s OK, and it’s NORMAL as legitimate network marketing companies, are NOT a “get-rich-quick-scheme” as most people believe this, and if they don’t see an immediate ROI they quit, which to be honest, I’ve done.

What to do in your first 60 days

  • Personal Development
  • Make a list of your “warm” market
  • Reach out to your warm market
  • Speak with others doing the same thing you are
  • DON’T GIVE UP

Personal Development

Chances are you will need to adjust your mindset a little bit when joining a network marketing company as it’s really different than a “regular 9 to 5 job” so developing yourself as a leader, as a better entrepreneur is very crucial. If you’ve joined a legitimate network marketing company, they will WANT you to succeed, and so will your upline – so utilize the training materials offered by the company, call your upline regularly, or at least have regular contact with them. Go to the live training events, and you will up your chances of being successful.

Make a list of your “warm” market

This one is pretty simple, write down the names of numbers of AT LEAST 20 people you know, and interact with on a regular basis. Whether it be via text message, facebook, twitter.. whatever it is, make this list, and make sure they are people you want to work with as when you bring someone on board, it’s your responsibility to help them grow with the company.

Reach out to your warm market


Call them if you have their number, and don’t go right into pitching your business – have a humanly conversation first ask them about THEM, people don’t care what you say, unless they know that you care about them. If they’re a local person, ask them to meet up for a coffee or beers – and then talk about what you’re doing, and go on the pitch.

Speak with others doing the same thing you are


Find other members who are in the same business you are, or ask the person who referred to put you in the right direction towards others who are in the same boat as you. Talk to them, learn from their experiences, and mistakes.

DON’T GIVE UP


DON’T GIVE UP! Keep working away, do a couple things every day to promote your business to personally develop yourself and make yourself a better business person. I assure you, if you work at it you will be successful, you just have to realize that success doesn’t come overnight – and you will have to put your sweat and blood into this for it to be successful.

KNOW YOUR WHY!

Before joining any network marketing company, you obviously have a reason why you’re even looking into it, may it be money, freedom, travel.. whatever it may be it’s your reasoning. You’re going to need to have a truly solid WHY before you can be successful in obtaining any sort of success in network marketing. I’ve made a short video on what needs to be done before you join.

The answer is really simple. It’s advertising. Instead of the company paying millions of dollars on advertising, such as TV, Radio, etc. They hire a direct selling team, who then “recruits” consumers to use the product and promote it themselves, and by doing this earn a commission.

In Network Marketing, NOBODY tells you how much you make – your income is completely dependent on your efforts, and how committed and dedicated you are to the business.

Oh, I have to recruit, that’s a pyramid scheme

WRONG first of all, pyramid scheme’s are ILLEGAL. Second of all, look at your current position and the structure of the management/employees. Does it look like this? Does your direct boss make more than you? Do they make your schedule? Do they tell you what to do? Do they tell you when you can take vacations?

Yes, I thought so too. In a legitimate MLM/Network Marketing opportunity only YOU determine how much you make, you can make someone who is higher than you, you CAN set your own hours, you CAN take vacations whenever you want. Now here is what an MLM/Network Marketing “Pyramid” looks like.

With that being said, there are no guarantees when you join a legitimate MLM/Network Marketing business, you get what you put in it, and to be honest, most people don’t make any money because they give up too easy. Simply put, don’t give up, work your butt off for a while, and you will be making tons of money!

Here are a couple things to do before you join an MLM/Network Marketing company

  1. Find — and study — the company’s track record
  2. Learn about the product
  3. Ask questions
  4. Understand any restrictions
  5. Talk to other distributors (beware of shills)
  6. Consider using a friend or adviser as a neutral sounding board or for a gut check
  7. Take your time
  8. Think about whether this plan suits your talents and goals

How to be successful in Network Marketing

This short article is about some standard ways on how to be successful in whatever network marketing/MLM opportunity you’re currently involved with.

 BE PATIENT

NOTHING comes overnight, don’t give up after your first “NO” hell, don’t even give up after your 100th NO. Once the YES comes you will forget about all the people who said no. Just keep going, and going, and eventually you will be where you want to be.

MAKE A COMMITMENT AND STICK TO IT

Network Marketing isn’t easy, but it’s also not rocket science. Set your self up a schedule and stick to it. When I first started I only worked on my business 2 hours per day and that’s it. But during those two hours, I worked my ass off. I suggest you find something that works for you and stick with it.

PLUG INTO COMPANY TRAINING

ALL legitimate network marketing companies will have a training program for you to go over. Watch/Listen to it regularly and keep on top of the current events that are going on with your company. Try to attend some live training sessions if your company offers such.

MAKE YOUR UPLINE WORK FOR YOU

When you first start off in Network Marketing, your credibility is practically zero however, you may have some people in your upline who are successful in the business, and can speak to your potential team members and assist you to show them the road.

DO SOMETHING EVERYDAY TO PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS

Everyday do something that will promote your business. Write a blog, create a LinkedIn discussion, Facebook page fan interactions are all great exposure opportunities.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO TELL PEOPLE WHAT YOU DO

My biggest fear when I first started was rejection from family and friends. A lot of my friends laughed at me, said I was in a “Pyramid Scheme/Scam” and brushed me off. DO NOT let that deter you, network marketing is a FANTASTIC opportunity if you do the right things.

A quote from Donald Trump when asked if he had to do it all over again, what would he do. His ONE LINE answer was this

“I would get into network marketing”
